How’s the city, a night like this in august

when the summer has raind away?

It was a long time ago,

I should have called, but calling now feels a bit silly and short.
I’m in Oslo with your ex, but it’s nothing between us
We’re just sauntering around at Karl-Johan and I needed to break loose.

Here the clouds are coloured at dusk pretty majestic over Grand.
And it looks a bit like that night when the barn burned, if you remember?

But it was a long time ago, yes, it was an eternity ago since something burned,
At least close to me.
Have you found your way home? Yes I’ve heard you got yourself an apartment and settled down.
And it’s tiresome to always be on the run,
there’s so much you should have been able to by now and decided.

Oh it’s not as charming to stumble home at five o’clock
It’s not as inspired now as in 95, if you remember?

That’s life now! Sorry if I’m bitter and cynical but you know how it is!
I want to have it like you, but I know you think the same sometimes and you want to have it like me.

Yes, it was better before, but it will be better in the future

I’m trying to stay by the surface as hard as I can, though the tops are higher now and the downs are deeper since the fire disappeared,

as you know?

We should meet again; I like the stream at autumn, when the everyday chance has settled over the squares.

Then you can breathe again and use your hours to recognize the joy or ponder the sorrow.

You can pick for yourself and take things as they are, is it hard to
watch time go by and you get older, or fun be around?

And to have harmony from time to time in-between all exams and points

Its so easy to walk on it’s so hard to stop and walk back again,

as you know!
